KINGS OF BOSPOROS. Rhoemetalces, 131/2-153/4. Stater (Gold, 19 mm, 7.70 g, 12 h), struck under Antoninus Pius, year NV= 450 = 153-154. ΒΑСΙΛΕΩС ΡΟΙΜΗΤΑΛΚΟΥ Diademed and draped bust of Rhoemetalces to right. Rev. NV Laureate head of Antoninus Pius to right. Anoknin 518a. Frolova Coinage, p. 148 and pl. XXI, 5. Frolova Monetnoe p. 280 and pl. LX, 5. RPC III 944. Extremely rare – no example depicted in RPC; with clear portraits. Reverse struck slightly off-center, otherwise, good very fine.
