ROMAN. Seal with the head of an uncertain emperor, circa 270s. (Lead, 24 mm, 11.63 g). Laureate, draped and bearded male bust to right. The laureate portrait indicates that an emperor was being portrayed; however, the lack of an inscription probably means that it is not an official issue. The portrait itself shows great similarities to those of Claudius II, Quintillus and Aurelian, especially those found on coins minted in Milan. Very fine.
