John V Palaeologus, 1341-1391. Tornese (Billon, 17.5 mm, 0.84 g, 6 h), an example of the anonymous "Politikon" coinage, Constantinople. +ΠOΛITIKON Cross pattée. Rev. Castle with gabled center and side towers; above, cross between two pellets. DOC 1209-14. SB 2578. Very rare. Usual porosity, otherwise, good very fine.
