Richard II (1377-99), Noble, Tower, type IIIc, 7.72g [119.1gns], 11h, French title resumed, single saltire stops and above sail, fishtail letters, trefoil by shield, ropes 3/1 {twisted}, ornaments -1-1-1, quatrefoils 4/4 {described as '6 annulets' in Schneider}, rev. i.m. cross pattée [6], reads mediv', double saltire stops, large r in centre (Webb Ware 3c; Stewartby IIIc, lettering type B; Schneider I, 176, same dies; Stewartby IIIc, pp. 254; N.1303[iv]; S.1657), lightly cleaned and struck with rusty dies, otherwise a bolder fine, the reverse better, scarce.
