Richard II (1377-99), Quarter-Noble, Tower, type Ia, 1.60g [24.7gns], 5h, double saltire stops, nothing over shield, rev. i.m. cross pattée [6], saltires after gloria, large r tilted 90 degrees anticlockwise in centre (Webb Ware 1a; Stewarby III, {'Ia'}, 929, same dies; Schneider I, 125 same obverse die; N.1317; S.1672), slightly short of flan, with a crease across reverse, otherwise a bolder fine, very rare.
