Edward III (1327-77), Noble, Tower, series Gb or Gc, 7.64g [117.9gns], 5h, unbarred as and ns, single annulet stops., ropes 2/3, ornaments ~1-1~, quatrefoils 3/3, rev. i.m. cross pattée [cross 3 (4)], cs and es formed from same punch, single saltire stops, small e in centre (LAL, dies AY/15; Doubleday 100/96, same dies; Schneider I, 47; N.1180; S.1490), a hint of a flan crease and struck with aging dies, otherwise a light tone in recesses, almost very fine.
