ISLANDS off SICILY, Sardinia. Caralis. Circa 40 BC. Æ (29mm, 26.24 g, 11h). Aristo–, Mutumbal, and Ricoce, suffetes. Jugate male heads right / Tetrastyle temple façade; in pediment, eagle standing left with wings spread. RPC I 624; Müller, Afrique 319-20 (Carthage); FITA 149-50; SNG Hunterian 184. Dark green and reddish brown patina, roughness, a few marks and scratches. VF. Rare.

The portraits on the obverse are sometimes identified as Octavian and Agrippa, Octavian and M. Aemilius Lepidus, or Octavian and Caesar. More likely, they represent two of the magistrates responsible for the issue.
