CYRRHESTICA, Cyrrhus. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 12.53 g, 12h). Struck circa AD 215-217. Radiate and cuirassed bust left, raising right hand, with spear and shield over left shoulder / Laureate head of Caracalla right, set on eagle standing facing on filleted thyrsus, head and tail right, with wings spread. Prieur 902 var. (obv. bust type). Toned with areas of find patina, porosity. VF. Extremely rare, Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, and two in CoinArchives (and also two specimens with Caracalla's right hand holding the spear).
