SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (23.5mm, 11.91 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left. Prieur 975 (this coin). Toned, light porosity, some light scratches, flan a little irregular. VF. Extremely rare, only four noted by Prieur, and four in CoinArchives.
