SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 13.67 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left. Prieur 976 (this coin). Lightly toned with underlying luster, minor porosity, a few deposits. EF. Extremely rare, only three noted by Prieur, and three in CoinArchives.
