SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 12.21 g, 12h). Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left; crescent beneath eagle's head. Prieur 1015 (this coin). Lightly toned, some minor porosity, slight obverse die shift. Near EF. Very rare, only three noted by Prieur, and eight in CoinArchives.
