SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Laodicea ad Mare. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 12.14 g, 12h). Struck circa AD 207-208. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; star between legs. Prieur 1143 var. (bust laureate and draped only). Toned, a few light scratches and marks. Near EF. Nice metal and well centered. Extremely rare, Prieur did not own this example when he published his book, and none in CoinArchives.
