MESOPOTAMIA, Carrhae. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 13.99 g, 12h). Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing on bull's head flanked by pellets, head right and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; pellet to either side of eagles' head. Prieur 825 (this coin). Lightly toned with underlying luster, some minor porosity. EF. Very rare, only eight noted by Prieur, and three in CoinArchives.
