MESOPOTAMIA, Edessa. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (27mm, 12.91 g, 11h). Struck circa AD 215-217. Laureate and cuirassed bust right, with gorgoneion on breastplate / Eagle standing facing, head and tail right, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, shrine with pediment. Prieur 843 (this coin). Lightly toned, areas of find patina, minor porosity. VF. Very rare, six noted by Prieur, and five in CoinArchives.
