NETHERLANDS. temp. William I. 1815-1840. WM Medal (46mm, 34.98 g, 12h). Centennary of the Amsterdam Mennonite Theological Seminary, 6 December 1835. By D. van der Kellen. Dated 1835 (in Roman numerals). EEN HEER, EEN GELOOVE, EEN DOOP., veiled female figure representing Faith, looking up to rays emanating from clouds, standing facing on ground, holding book (Bible?) and extending hand to other books (Bibles?) on ground before pulpit inscribed with scriptural references; to left, inscribed baptismal font with volumen inscribed BELIJDENIS, set on pillow; VAN DER KELLEN F in exergue / Fifteen-line inscription; all within ornate wreath. See Boekzaal der geleerde wereld: en tijdschrift voor de Protestantsche kerken, in het Koningrijk der Nederlanden. Voor Julij 1835, pp. 819-21. A few light stains and minor marks. EF.
