Charles the Bald (840-877) Denier ND (864-877) XF45 NGC, Courcessin or Courgeon mint, Class 2, Rob-1355, MEC I-860, MG-895, Dep-375. 19mm. 1.75gm. +GRΛTIA D-I REX, Karolus monogram / +HCVRTISΛSONIEH (O diamond-shaped, HC ligate), cross pattee. A noticeably attractive specimen from this peculiar mint, much nicer than the majority of examples encountered on the market, with a soft topaz-tangerine backlight paired nicely with dove-gray color atop the devices. Sold with old collector's envelope.
