Jean II le Bon (1350-1364) gold Mouton d'Or ND AU55 NGC, Fr-280, Dup-291. 30mm. 4.64gm. +ΛGn • DЄI • TOLL • PCCA • mVNDI • mISЄRЄRЄ • nOB, nimbate Agnus Dei standing left, head turned right, long cross with banner behind; all within tressure broken by IOh' | RЄX below / XP'C ‡ VIИCIT ‡ XP'C ‡ RЄGИAT ‡ XP'C ‡ IMPЄRAT, cross fleury with lis in angles, within quatrefoil with lis in spandrels. Emission from the 17 January 1355. Incredibly appealing for the designation, a remarkably intensive degree of detail still visible in both the banner and paschal lamb, and the entirety of the legends on-flan. Sold with old collector's envelope and CNG auction tag.
