Q. Pomponius Musa. 56 BC. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.69 g, 2h). Rome mint. Laureate head of Apollo right; inverted lyre key to left / Calliope, the Muse of Epic Poetry, standing right, playing lyre set on column. Crawford 410/2b; Sydenham 812; Pomponia 10; RBW –. Attractive, old cabinet tone, minor flan flaw on obverse and a couple of scratches under tone. Good VF. Very rare with inverted lyre key.
