Attica, Athens, New Style. Tetradrachm; Attica, Athens, New Style; Magistrates Dionysi- and Dionysi-, Helios in Quadriga, c. 119/8 BC, Tetradrachm, 16.77g. Thompson-552, pl. 57 (this coin). Obv: Helmeted head of Athena r. Rx: Owl standing r. on amphora, head front; ethnic and magistrates' names l. and r., in r. field radiate Helios in facing quadriga; third magistrate AN/TI/FA in l. field, A on amphora, ?I below; all within olive wreath. As Thompson notes, this same obverse die was also used for the Double Cornucopia issue, showing that that issue probably either directly preceded or directly followed the Helios in Quadriga issue.
