One of the key dates in the Canadian Sovereign series, scarcely ever offered in this fine a quality and perpetually sought after as such. Edward's portrait is almost Specimen-quality in its strike, the surrounding fields sleek and lustrous; trivial handling marks pepper the surfaces in line with the grade, yet this piece is clearly on the cusp of gem. The last example of this quality we handled sold in our January sale for $9,600, making this a veritable must.
