Awarded to Mr. Henri Duval in 1845, with the reverse indicating that the medal was awarded by King Louis Philippe himself. Struck in high-relief with a satiny finish over the raised devices contrasting against reflective, mirrorlike fields. The reverse engraving is skillfully performed and easily legible, making for a wholly attractive and certainly historically interesting issue.
