Given its exceptionally low mintage of only 225 examples for 1831, this second date of an elusive two-year type proves difficult to locate in higher grades, rendering this MS62-graded example one of comparatively strong quality. Shimmering, well-struck, and sharply defined, with detailed rims framing the central expanses. Currently the finest certified example of the date by either grading service.
