Republic gold "Single Shaft" Pond 1892 AU58 PCGS, Berlin mint, KM10.2, Hern-Z45. The far rarer of the two 1892 Pond varieties and the rarest of the regular issue ZAR Ponds. Bordering on Mint State, this selection exhibits notable cartwheel luster over lemon-gold surfaces, essentially free from wear or marks save for a dig in the field in front of the portrait; its striking quality is obviously strong for the type and its preservation excellent. One of the far more popular ZAR issues and in a premium grade for the type.
