The milled 4 Escudos of Philip V's reign are virtually never offered on the market, making the present example doubly desirable when its rarity is considered alongside its astounding near-gem preservation. Though lightly adjusted and struck softly, somewhat off-center, there is no doubt when viewing this piece in-hand as to the standout quality the specimen offers, given its gorgeous lustrous fields and absolute minimal handling. At MS64 this remains the finest example seen by NGC.
