'ATYPICAL' COINS, Edessa type. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (25mm, 12.52 g, 12h). Reverse copied from an Antioch issue of Elagabalus. Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; star between legs; Δ Є across fields. Cf. Prieur 1723. Lightly toned, some porosity. . Extremely rare, this coin was not part of the Prieur collection at the time of his book's publication.
