Constantine II, as Caesar (AD 337-340). AE3 or BI follis (20mm, 6h). ANACS VF 30, tooled. Trier, 1st officina, AD 322-323. CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine II left, seen from front, reins of bridled horse left in right hand, shield in left decorated with motif of emperor on horseback left, accompanied by two soldiers marching left with shields / BEATA TRAN-QVILLITAS, globe on altar inscribed VO/TIS/XX in three lines; three stars above, •PTR• below. RIC VII -, cf. RIC 381. RIC does not list any examples of this series with the G12 bust type (cuirassed only, no spear), but footnotes for RIC 388 an example in Vienna with obverse legend 7b (N C). The busts with adjunct series and horse (G11-13) does not list any types with drapery - only with cuirass.
