IBERIA. Punic Iberia. AR Half Shekel (3.52 gms), Carthago Nova Mint, ca. 237-209 B.C. NGC VF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5.
SNG Cop-296 (Zeugitania); SNG BM Spain-114-6. Obverse: Bare male head (Hannibal?) left; Reverse: Horse standing right. Struck during the Carthaginian occupation of Iberia, this rather scarce piece does exhibit some roughness to its surfaces and moderate wear throughout, but possesses a well centered strike and charming cabinet tone.
