Rouvier-2013; HGC-10, 357. Obverse: Laureate bust of Melkart right, with drapery tied around neck; Reverse: Eagle standing left on prow; palm frond behind; to left, LΛ (date) above downward club; monogram to right, Phoenician letter between legs. Though displaying a few light marks as noted, this pleasing shekel--from the famous series with dates according to the city's founding--features a lightly toned, broad flan along with an even, well centered strike.
