PARTHIA. Mithradates II, 121-91 B.C. AR Tetradrachm, Seleukeia on the Tigris Mint, ca. 120/19-109 B.C. ICG AU 50.
Sellwood type 24. Obverse: Diademed bust left; Reverse: Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on omphalos, holding bow; palm frond to outer right; uncertain control in exergue. A particularly bold and lustrous obverse, with great relief in the portrait of Mithradates. The reverse is somewhat off center, with a few minor spots of roughness, though it remains an overall highly attractive example of the type.

From the Collection of Dr. James Eustace Bizzell, II.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
