THEODOSIUS II, A.D. 402-450. AR Miliarense (4.34 gms), Constantinople Mint, ca. A.D. 408-420. NGC Ch AU, Strike: 3/5 Surface: 5/5.
RIC-370; RSC-20a. Obverse: Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust left; Reverse: Theodosius standing facing, head left, raising hand and holding globus; star to left; CON. Attractively toned and well centered, this alluring silver issue features a good deal of underlying luster remaining. A few inconsequential die cracks are noted on the reverse, along with a minor edge chip (as are sometimes encountered with the miliarenses of this period) but, in the opinion of this cataloger, this specimen is a premium quality piece for its designation.

Estimate: $1200.00- $1800.00
