BELGIUM. 5 Francs, 1850. Leopold I. PCGS MS-64+ Gold Shield.
KM-17. Dot Above Date variety. Amazing quality for the issue, with surfaces that appear to fully merit the Gem moniker, displaying almost no marks along with an unique arrangement of tone that is mostly soft golden colored with instances of dappled green and amber along the obverse edges and smooth violet, blue and green near the date on the reverse. Presently the single finest example certified for the date with the only comparable auction record for an example of this type being an NGC-graded 1852-dated MS-64 from the Lissner Collection that sold in 2014 for $1,440.
Estimate: $800.00- $1000.00
