CAMBODIA. Silver Medallic 5 Francs Trial, 1875. Mennig Brothers (Brussels) Mint. Norodom I. PCGS SPECIMEN-62 Gold Shield.
KMX-T2; Gad-10; Lec-95. Struck by the Mennig brothers as a sample of their minting press's capabilities in an effort to sell minting equipment to Cambodia. Though featuring the oft-encountered bust of Norodom on its obverse, the reverse displays more of a western iconography, with the Prince and Heavenly Host, St. Michael the Archangel slaying the devil as a fallen angel. Extremely lustrous and lightly toned, with some scattered hairlines noted.
