ECUADOR. Moneda de Quito. 8 Reales, ND (1831). Quito Mint. PCGS VG-8 Gold Shield.
KM-10. Script "MDQ" countermark applied to the obverse of an 1821-Ba JF Cundinamarca 8 Reales (KM-C6; Restrepo-157.4s). Though the host coin is well worn, it remains a problem free example of this countermarked type. Compare to a similar example from the Eldorado Collection (also a PCGS VG-08), which realized a hammer of $1,400 early in 2018.
Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
