ETHIOPIA. Werk, EE 1921 (1928). Addis Ababa Mint. NGC Unc Details--Edge Damage.
KM-Pn8; Gill-RT8. This is a muling between the obverse pattern die for the silver 1/8 Birr and the reverse die for the Menelik 1/32 Birr (Besa). A pleasing example of this RARE issue demonstrating exceptional sharpness. Areas of friction are apparent around the rims, though they do not distract from the overall aesthetic. Struck from rusted dies but still sharply defined and intensely lustrous. Likely struck under Haile Selassie to give out as gifts after he became emperor.
Estimate: $900.00- $1100.00
