FRANCE. Salut d'Or, ND (1423-33). Rouen Mint. Henry VI. NGC MS-65.
3.47 gms. Fr-301; Dup-443a. An ever popular piece featuring the announcement of the Incarnation by the Archangel Gabriel to Mary, this alluring gem exhibits wondrous luster and one of the finest strikes for the series which this cataloger has seen. Even the most intricate detail, such as the hair on the heads of both Mary and Gabriel, is finely rendered. An exceptional strike and full of tremendous eye appeal.

The boy King Henry VI was proclaimed King of France at the age of six months and crowned in 1431. Defeats in battle and defections of allies forced the English to surrender all their holdings in France except Calais in 1453, ending the Hundred Years War.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
