FRANCE. Ecu, 1725-A. Paris Mint. Louis XV. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
KM-472.1; Dav-1329; Gad-320. No dot variety; 1st semester. A rather exceptional piece, offering pleasing, golden surfaces and some hints of peripheral cobalt. The strike is quite sharp and, despite scattered haymarks typical for this type and a few light hairlines, this specimen would appear to be rather conservatively graded. A slight flan flaw on the king's neck is noted merely for completeness, as this example boasts an astounding premium quality worthy of detailed, in hand observation.
Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
