FRANCE. Laval. Agricultural Competition Gold Medal, 1862. Paris Mint. Napoleon III. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Gold Shield.
Abeille (bee) on edge. Obverse: Laureate head of Napoleon III facing left; Reverse: Agricultural crops in a wreath and inscription around. An award medal issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Trade, and Public Works for the Regional Agricultural Competition in Laval. This medal is specifically for the livestock breeding competition but remains unawarded and is RARE as such. The surfaces are essentially untouched and original. Pale ivory-gold hues dominate the complexion and are complemented by a dusting of faint patina. Strong reflectivity sparkles throughout the fields and contrast against the satiny design elements. An impressive and beautiful specimen.
Estimate: $1800.00- $2200.00
