GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Taler, 1752-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. NGC MS-62.
Dav-2157; KM-940; Müseler-10.3/61; Welter-2730. Struck for the "White Swan" mine. RARE quality for the very scarce type, possessing steely flash in the fields and only trivial instances of past handling. Without question one of the most elegant Talers every produced, which explains why this type enjoys undying popularity from specialists and type collectors alike.

The Duke must have been extra-grateful for his silver mines in 1752, as he issued this Taler for the "White Swan," Dav-2162 for the "Lauthenthal's Luck" mine, Dav-2164 for "Goodness of the Lord" mine, Dav-2166 for the "Rainbow" mine and Dav-2168 for the "King Carl" mine. All are scarce.
