GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Taler, 1752-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
Dav-2166; KM-945. Type struck for the Rainbow Mine. An entirely original example of this captivating pictorial type, with rich gray-tan tone that blankets both sides and contains instances of intermingled orange and purple iridescent color. Close inspection reveals very few instances of handling for the grade, however a few faint planchet disturbances that appear in the left portion of the mining village motif have left the corresponding wild-man supporter on the opposite side incomplete. Despite this minor shortcoming, far better than most seen, and fully worthy of consideration for a top-notch set of fancy-illustrated Talers.
