GERMANY. Murbach & Luders. Taler, ND (ca. 1630). Ensisheim Mint. Leopold Wilhelm von Osterreich. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield.
KM-24; Dav-5617B. Small "S" in "LEODEGARIVS" variety. Highly pleasing quality for this SCARCE type, displaying evident remaining luster in the fields and soft orange toning highlights that cling to most of the raised surfaces. Possessing an above average strike as well, which gives this example a finer appearance than some examples which may not have circulated.

This obscure issue is from the long-vanished Abbey of Murbach and Luders in upper Alsace. The region is now firmly part of France.

From the Linda Collection.

Estimate: $2000.00- $3000.00
