GERMANY. Pomerania-Cammin. Taler, 1633. Stettin Mint. Bogislaw XIV. NGC AU-58.
Dav-7282A; KM-78. Impressively detailed for the issue with moderate gray tone in the centers and attractive multicolored compliments around the outer legends. While not immediately noticeable upon normal inspection, several intentional marks reside in the field to the right of Bogislaw XIV's ornate clothing. A choice example of the issue nonetheless.

The town of Cammin lies on the mouth of the river Oder. The bishopric of Cammin lies to the east of the town on the shore of the Baltic Sea. It was converted to Lutheranism in the sixteenth century and thereafter the Duke of Pomerania appointed himself as Bishop. On his death in 1637, the eastern half of Pomerania passed to Brandenburg-Prussia. The area is now part of Poland.

From the Linda Collection.

Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
