GERMANY. Teutonic Order. 1/4 Taler, ND (ca. 1615)-CO. Hall Mint. Maximilian I of Austria. NGC MS-63.
KM-39; Berg-83a; Dudik-230 var. Obverse: Crowned, mantled and armored figure of the grand master stands 1/4 left, arms supported by a monster at left, plumed helmet at right; Reverse: The emperor, mounted and armed cap à pie, charges right, circle of shields around. An attractive example of this popular, early type with original tone blanketing both sides. Close inspection yields some evidence of die clashing that adds texture to the fields, but few instances of handling reside over the surfaces.

From the Linda Collection.

Estimate: $800.00- $1200.00
