GERMANY. Westphalia. Taler, 1810-C. Cassel Mint. Jerome Napoleon. NGC MS-62.
Dav-933; KM-113. Large bust right. Medium to dark speckled toning with strong underlying luster and free from distracting problems. Sharply struck and much nicer than what in normally encountered for this SCARCE issue.

The kingdom of Westphalia was a puppet state erected by Napoleon in 1807 from territory seized from Hannover, Prussia and several ecclesiastical states and given to his brother Jerome to rule. When Jerome started showing signs of thinking independently, he was deposed and the kingdom annexed to France in 1813. At the Congress of Vienna, the area was restored to its former lords, Hannover and Prussia.

Estimate: $700.00- $1000.00
