GERMANY. Wurttemberg-Oels. Taler, 1716-CVL. Karl Friedrich. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield.
Dav-2878; KM-84. Intricately detailed over both sides with smooth, mark-free fields and surfaces to display delicate blushes of complimentary purple and gold tone. A type that appears infrequently in any grade, but can truly be considered RARE as fine as the present. Both PCGS and NGC corroborate this assertion, as this example is the single finest graded among them.
The dukes of Wurttemberg-Oels were a cadet branch of the dukes of Wurttemberg who set themselves up in Silesia (Oels is northeast of Breslau) in 1647 and ruled there until 1792.
From the Linda Collection.
Estimate: $3000.00- $4000.00
