GERMANY. Unitary State Creation Bronze Medal, 1934. CHOICE UNCIRCULATED.
127 mm. Colbert-Hyder C-62; Kienast-494. By K. Goetz. Issued on the occasion of the abolition of the German states by Adolf Hitler on January 30, 1934. Kienast notes that this type was issued in 36 mm (silver), 60 mm (bronze) and 127 mm (cast bronze, offered here). We see a number of recent sales of the two smaller versions but the most recent sale of this VERY RARE large version appears to be Numismatik Lanz Munchen sale 103, lot 876 (May 2001). Exceptional quality overall with even coloration and no evidence of handling.
