PHILIPPINES. Mint Error -- Struck on Aluminum Planchet -- 10 Centavos, 1937-M. Manila Mint. NGC MS-64.
0.36 gms. KM-181; Allen-9.01. An EXTREMELY RARE off-metal strike on an aluminum planchet of unknown origins. Boldly struck and perfectly centered on the planchet with attractive original surfaces. The obverse has a slightly subdued appearance displaying soft grey patina while the reverse is virtually tone free and highly lustrous. This unusual error has the appearance of a regular issue, but obviously significantly under weight. A highly interesting error certain to see spirited bidding from the specialist.
