PHILIPPINES. Bronze Wilson Medallic "Dollar", 1920. Manila Mint. NGC MS-63 Brown.
KMX-11a; HK-450; Allen-M-2. Commemorating the opening of the Manila mint. Rather conservatively graded in the opinion of this cataloger, the present piece offers alluringly lustrous surfaces with a pleasing reddish-brown hue. Though featuring a mintage of 3,700 examples, many were unfortunately dumped into Manila Bay before the Japanese invasion during World War II in order to prevent them from being seized.
