Honeycutt-317; Basso-155. Struck to commemorate the conquest of the Philippines on December 27, 1941. Obverse: Map of the Philippines with six towns listed in English; Agoo, Damortis, San Fabian, Manila, Binalonan and Tarlac; Reverse: Quartermaster wagon, Japanese inscription "Great East Asia War/Watari 8857 Unit" above and below. Another well preserved example of this SCARCE medal with attractive light grey tone that displays a nice sheen of iridescent hues.
