PHILIPPINES. Japanese Occupation. Bronze Quartermaster Corps Medal, Year 6 (1941). By: C. Zamora. PCGS AU-58 Gold Shield.
Honeycutt-317a; Basso-155a. Struck to commemorate the conquest of the Philippines on December 27, 1941. Obverse: Map of the Philippines with six towns listed in English; Agoo, Damortis, San Fabian, Manila, Binalonan and Tarlac; Reverse: Quartermaster wagon, Japanese inscription "Great East Asia War/Watari 8857 Unit" above and below. A VERY SCARCE medal struck in bronze seen far less seldom then its silver counterpart. An attractive and well preserved example with a lovely combination of milk chocolate, mocha and cinnamon. A real treat for the specialist of Philippines medals.

We sold a lower grade example in our Stack's Bowers and Ponterio auction November 5, 2015 lot # 39558 "The Ray Czahor Collection" which we graded EXTREMELY FINE that hammered down for $1,400- plus buyers fee.

From the Pasig River Collection.

Estimate: $1500.00- $2000.00
