Red and blue inking stands out on the front of the note, and is in a eye catching design behind the central vignette. The reverse of the proof shows two allegorical women on the left and right, with a central design which says "Empire of Brazil". An ornate green border is seen surrounding the vignettes and denominations. Printers annotations are noted.
